Language Arts Update
Our focus will be to solidify all those reading strategies before the Reading SOL. Dictionary skills are another area we can sometimes take for granted. Guide words, know what words would be on the page, and understanding a dictionary entry is really important. If you can, pull out a dictionary and work with your child on these skills.
Math Update
A short week of elapsed time. This is an important life skill all 4th graders should have. here is an example.
- The game started at 7:50pm. It ended at 10:04pm. How long was the game?
- Recess began at 11:12am. It ended at 11:44am. How long was recess?
