Thursday, May 10th & Friday, May 11th: Reading SOL
Thursday, May 24th & Friday, May 25th: Math SOL

Camp Albemarle was a big success. A big thank you to all that made the trip possible. We could not have done it without such a supportive parent group.

Word Study Update
With the SOL quickly approaching, we will be spending the next few weeks reviewing more challenging skills. This week's focus will be on homophones. You can help at home by using words such as there, their, and they're in context. Please discuss how to properly use them.

Reading Update
We will be practicing those reading strategies on short fiction and nonfiction passages to help us prepare for the upcoming testing.

Math Update

Way to go on the Fraction & Decimals test! We will be spending the next three weeks working mini units. To mix it up, we will be visiting other teachers weekly to learn the skill. Here is this week's agenda:
Canalichio Homeroom: Multiplication and Division
Elsie Homeroom: Probability
Shifflett Homeroom: Patterns, Functions, and Algebra

Content Update: Last week in the unit!

Mrs. Canalichio's Homeroom: Jamestown

Mrs. Elsie's Homeroom: Virginia Geography through Minecraft

Ms. Shifflett's Homeroom: Earth, Moon, Sun, & Planets
